Our central location positions us within easy access of the motorway network yet still puts us in a unique setting amongst the rural beauty of Cannock Chase.

300 ACRE TRAINING AND TURNOUT FACILITY

Our extensive facilities provide your horse with an excellent environment to develop. We like to turn our horses out regularly to relax, take a pick of grass and to chill out a little.  We have extensive turn-out paddocks for this purpose.

HISTORIC GRASS GALLOPS

Our grass gallops known as “Flaxley”, where three Grand National winners were once trained, are on the edge of Cannock chase with views over Staffordshire and Derbyshire.  Here we have a selection of uphill gallops from four furlongs to seven furlongs on well-drained and well-kept turf.

NEW ALL-WEATHER GALLOP

Close to the yard we have a 2-furlong sand canter ring and a newly surfaced 4-furlong “Mactac” all-weather gallop.

EXTENSIVE SCHOOLING FACILITIES

We have schooling hurdles and fences. Reg was a jump jockey and he really enjoys NH racing.

24HR YARD RESIDENT TRAINER AND STAFF

Living on-site, enables Hollinshead Racing to provide closer care and attention to the welfare of the horses.

EASY ACCESS TO CANNOCK CHASE

A change of scenery in their daily routine, is essential in providing the horses with a varied training schedule. With Cannock Chase on the doorstep, it’s 26 square miles of bridleways and woodland, give your horses the luxury of this open facility and is seen as an important part of their development.

STUD AND BREEDING

Tim Hollinshead and his wife, Lynda, run the adjacent, successful stud  – Longdon Stud. The stud has excellent facilities including a new purpose built foaling unit and extensive fenced paddocks.
